What Church Cleaning Covers

Church facilities have a distinct set of spaces. A sanctuary is not an office floor. A fellowship hall is not a break room. Each church account is scoped by naming each space and setting clear expectations at the walk-through.

A standard contract for a church or faith community facility covers:

  • Sanctuary: Carpet vacuumed on every scheduled visit and extracted on a periodic rotation; seating areas and pews cleaned; entry and aisle surfaces maintained; high-touch surfaces wiped each visit
  • Fellowship hall: Floor mopping, stripping and waxing on rotation, tables and chairs cleaned, kitchen and serving counter surfaces maintained between events
  • Restrooms: Cleaned and sanitized on every scheduled visit, supply restocking included, serviced before Sunday morning to handle peak congregation volume
  • Sunday school classrooms: Floors vacuumed or mopped, surface cleaning, trash removed on every visit
  • Kitchen and snack areas: Counter surfaces, sinks, small appliance areas, and floors cleaned on the contract schedule
  • Pastoral offices and administrative areas: Desk surfaces, trash, floors, and common areas follow the same commercial office cleaning scope as any professional office, adapted to the church facility layout

Scope is customized per congregation and facility layout; the walk-through confirms those specifics. Commercial window washing can be added to the contract. Power washing, food service hood cleaning, and biohazard remediation are outside what Frisco Brothers offers.

An eco-friendly cleaning option is available for all church accounts on request, and is the default selection for child-used spaces at no surcharge.

Scheduling Around Sunday Service and Mid-Week Programming

Every office building has a Monday-through-Friday rhythm. A church has Sunday. That single fact changes how every church cleaning account gets scheduled.

Most active church accounts are serviced Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. Restrooms and entry areas are cleaned and ready before the first service begins. Sanctuary floors and seating areas are addressed in that same pre-service window. The crew does not leave a wet floor in a sanctuary aisle on a Sunday morning. The schedule is built to prevent exactly that.

Some congregations prefer a light reset after Sunday services end, before evening programming or the start of mid-week use. That post-service window is available as a contract add-on for facilities that need it.

Mid-week programming adds a second scheduling layer that does not apply to standard office accounts. Churches with Wednesday evening programs, weekday ministry events, or youth group meetings need cleaning that finishes before those events start. Mid-week calendars are accounted for at the walk-through and built into the schedule from the first service date.

Fellowship hall scheduling follows the event calendar. For facilities with banquets, community gatherings, or recurring weekly events, floor maintenance runs between events rather than on a fixed day-of-the-week rotation. Pre-event prep and post-event cleanup options are available as contract add-ons.

Sanctuary Carpet Care

Sanctuary carpet carries more foot traffic per square foot than most commercial flooring. A congregation moves through pews and aisles every week. Special services, weddings, funerals, and children’s ministry programming add to that volume between regular Sundays. Vacuuming handles the surface layer. It does not remove the embedded soil and residue that accumulates in high-traffic sanctuary carpet over a season.

Periodic carpet extraction is how that embedded material gets removed. Erik Larrson, Frisco Brothers’ floor technician specialist with 30+ years in floor care, handles extraction work on church accounts using a truck-mounted carpet and floor extraction system. That is commercial-grade equipment, not a portable unit.

Extraction is scheduled around the service calendar. Sanctuary carpet is not extracted the morning of a service. The walk-through establishes a rotation that keeps the sanctuary ready at all times, with extraction scheduled during windows that allow proper drying before the next service. Drying time varies by carpet type, product selection, and airflow.

Most active sanctuaries benefit from extraction two to four times per year. High-attendance environments or sanctuaries with significant special-event traffic typically run closer to the higher end of that range.

Why These Congregations Chose Frisco Brothers

A church administrator handing over facility access on a Saturday night needs to know one thing: who is this crew?

Every person Frisco Brothers assigns to a church account has cleared the background and reference checks detailed in our hiring process, with Mark McGlothlin personally approving each hire and supervisor spot inspections continuing on every active account. Onboarding for church accounts adds awareness of the weekend service rhythm that cleaning has to work around, sanctuary-specific care between services, and the multi-building access coordination a church campus typically requires across sanctuary, fellowship hall, classrooms, and pastoral offices.

Mark and Sandra McGlothlin are both personally active in cleaning client facilities. Church administrators are not handing over access to an unknown corporate contractor. The owners of the company show up and do the work alongside the crew. That has been the operating model since the early 2000s.

Victor and Ana Ayala, the supervisors on large accounts, bring 20+ years of cleaning and team management experience. Both are bilingual in English and Spanish. Victor attends Stonebriar Church, an active Frisco Brothers client. That community connection is context for how well this crew understands what a church facility requires.

Coverage is in place, and the 5.0 rating across 56 Google reviews reflects 25 years of accounts maintained through consistent, verifiable work. For a church administrator evaluating a new church janitorial service, those are not vague credentials. They are specific numbers, a named carrier, and a local tenure no franchise can replicate.

Frequently Asked Questions About Church Cleaning

How do churches get cleaned?

A typical church cleaning covers the sanctuary, fellowship hall, restrooms, classrooms, and offices on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. Timing is built around the Sunday service peak, with sanctuary carpet extraction scheduled separately between services. The scope and cadence are set at the walk-through based on your facility’s layout and programming calendar.

How much does it cost to clean a church?

Church cleaning cost depends on facility square footage, how frequently service is needed, and which spaces are included in the contract. Pricing is set through a free walk-through and quote; no contract is signed before a site visit. The price quoted at that visit is the price on the invoice.

When do you clean around Sunday services?

Cleaning windows are confirmed at the walk-through and built around each congregation’s worship and programming schedule. The Scheduling section above covers the typical patterns.

Which churches in Frisco do you currently clean?

Active church accounts include Stonebriar Church and Grace Methodist Church in Frisco, plus additional congregations across Collin and Denton counties. References are available on request.

Are your staff background-checked for church facilities?

Yes. Background and reference checks are part of every hire, and Mark McGlothlin personally approves each staff member before they step foot on a client site. Regular unannounced inspections maintain the standard after onboarding. This matters for facilities used by children and families.

Are you bonded and insured for church cleaning?

Yes, the company is bonded through Hartford Insurance. A certificate of insurance is available on request before service begins.

Do you clean Sunday school classrooms and nursery areas?

Yes. Sunday school classrooms and nursery areas are part of the standard church cleaning scope. Eco-friendly products are available for those spaces at no surcharge.
